Up-to-date reliability of OSPF network types?

I’ve historically always used point-to-point as its the only mode I know to be reliable on RouterOS
Recently have changed a lot of sites to PTMP as they have active-active backup routers, so trying to create point-to-point adjacencies requires a separate VLAN between each router and makes things messy with a lot of extra VLAN interfaces. PTMP handles this automatically but I found it to still not be reliable as at 6.48.6 and 7.15 with logs showing occasionally dropping links due to auth mismatch every once in a while (its not actually mismatched, but perhaps packet malformed) or constantly flapping between exstart and 2way

Anyone have some up-to-date experience with other types such as broadcast and NBMA and can comment on their long term reliability? Otherwise i’ll have to be reverting everything back to point-to-point
