it should be sufficient, to copy the combined package to the files window on my RB411.
Did not work. After copying and reboot, no update done.
Then I did an unzip of the combined package on my PC, and copied the folder (incl. files) to the RB411.
Did not work either.
Finally I copied only all the files (packages) from the folder to the RB411.
Finally, update done.
So, please, how should it be ?
And, please, update the wiki, if necessary.
Connect to your router with Winbox, Select the downloaded file with your mouse, and drag it to the Files menu. If there are some files already present, make sure to put the package in the root menu, not inside the hotspot folder!:
It shows you should transfer packages, and not zip files. The combined package download is not a zip file, it’s a package (.npk), there’s an “all packages” option that is a zip file with a folder but that’s a different download option that permits you to retrieve all possible packages so you can only upload the packages you need. It also explicitly mentions that you should copy package files into the root folder, which means that you can’t transfer a folder with packages in it - there’s no difference between transferring a folder (gets copied first) with files in it (get copied into the folder that was just created) and uploading the files into the hotspot folder, which the wiki explicitly states you cannot do.
