Update Router RB750Gr3 Hex

I have an RB750Gr3 router with the
version 6.49.16.
This model comes with 16 MB of which I only have 4 MB left free.
Is it possible to update online?
It is possible to update the router to version 7.22 without having to use netinstall.

You can of course update it.
There should be two possible "paths", both in two steps:

  1. upgrade to 6.49.19 and from it directly to 7.22 (or whatever), suggested
  2. upgrade to 7.12.1 and from it update to 7.22 (or whatever), older method

In both cases keep firmware updated to the same ROS version.

OK, I'll update it from /system/packages.

And it's safe to do so even if I only have 4MB free.
My question is, what if, when trying to download the update, it can't due to space limitations, since the router is in production?

update to 6.49.19. This should work without issues. I would not upgrade to 7.x on a production device. Unless you already hate your job and want to resolve that situation by getting fired
