Hi - wondering if this product will be updated at any time or if it is in the works already I am out of the loop. An ARM aka 3011 version of this would be killer, or even a processor on par with the HEX.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

What do you mean by that?
In such case it would not be an update but fully different product. Anyway remember the difference between a switch and a router…
The CPU is fine on the switches, we just need more options on port counts, port types, POE, and more L2 features.
I Agree completely!
While they are at it, a move to ARM would be appreciated.
Hi Jarda - thanks for commenting. In smaller projects I do set these up as a router as well to do basic DHCP, NAT and basic firewall. Perhaps I need a lesson on the difference - but I was thinking in low demand networks it was a good solution.
Thanks
Sure it is. It just depends where is the optimal combination that is worth for mikrotik to design and produce new device. Just think that such device could be so expensive that combination of better router and better switch in two parts could be cheaper and more powerful than a single device itself. And it could parasite on selling other products that are already designed so do not bring new design costs. It is something they surely taking into account. So yea, you can ask for such switch with better cpu and integrated waterfall with led colored water and everything above that, but mikrotik marketers need to believe in it from cash and profit point of view… So that’s it.
Yup it is a pity there is some gaps. Today I had to do a large order of over 190 switches for a build we are doing. Had to go for that “other brand” we all know well as I needed POE, or 48 ports etc. For SFP switches I had to use edge-core.
