Update to v7.17beta5 crashed several CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS devices - config recovery?

Hello,

An update from v7.17v4 to v7.17v5 crashed several CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS devices. Lucky they are not production devices and we have backup.

I am going to the datacenter to see what’s the problem and it might need a Netinstall.. ? However, my colleage told me the latest config changes are probably not in a backup.

Is there a way to recover the latest config of the device? login via console? via rommon? Or escape the boot process?
In the announcement thread of v7.17, I saw multiple crashes from users which showed a memory issue. So it might be that the router wouldn’t boot because it’s out of memory. It is possible to escape this boot sequence and do a /export ?

Maybe there is a cloud backup of the device (to the Mikrotik cloud), but unfortunatelly I see no way of checking that? So I don’t know the date of it.

It is possible to netinstall (older version, 7.17beta4) while keeping configuration. You can try this and see if it works out.

Thanks mate! That did the job! I did a netinstall (remember to KEEP pressing the button for about 20-25sec.! If you release the button to early it will erase the config!!)
On the netinstall, select: Keep old configuration. Press Install and later: reboot. Worked!!
