Hi Mikrotik support and experts,
I have a client that is running the latest version (6.17) and is using the hotspot functionality. I cannot get the walled garden to work so that users can purchase additional data allowance via paypal.
All the instructions I can find relate to user manager v3 or v4 but nothing newer than that.
Can anybody advise the correct way to achieve the following;
User logs in as per normal. If the users profile has expired (ran out of data allowance), the system automatically takes them to the router’s /user page where they can check their status and if required, purchase more data using Paypal.
Walled Garden correct configuration please.
Many thanks..
This is the max help I can give, the paypal address to put on walled garden.
/ip hotspot walled-garden
add dst-host=*.paypal.* dst-port=443
add dst-host=paypal.112.2O7.net
add dst-host=*.paypalobjects.* dst-port=443
add dst-host=*.akamaitechnologies.com
add dst-host=*.akamaiedge.net
Thanks Rex… I cannot believe the lack of assistance from the manufacturer on this product. I was going to start putting these routers in place of my usual Cisco ones but now I’m not too sure.
So do you think I would be on the right track if I added the routers local IP address to the walled garden IP list so users can get to the hotspot portal even if their data usage has run out?
As they say in your language, grazie mille for your assistance.
Local IP address of hotspot are Always reachable.
For paypal & co. I use cloud4wi as hotspot portal, with only mikrotik devices.
I can get to the paypal site without problems if I enter it directly in the browser even without an active profile so that works…thanks…but
If a users “download” restricted profiles expires, I have setup some profiles that they can purchase (with paypal) but the problem is that they cannot get to the page where they can purchase more. for example; http://{ip address of router}:65080/user
Am I not doing something right?
I have added the ip address of the router to the walled garden IP but still nothing.
I need help with this urgently so if you can help it would be most appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris
I say it again: I’m using cloud4wi and i’m not using directly the routerboard, except walled garden.
