Updating from 2.6 and 2.8 to 3.3 (or newer) issue...

Hi, I work in a company with 4 Mikrotik pc based routers, version 2.6 (in branch) and 2.8 on HQ, I’m trying to update RouterOS to keep Infrastructure updated, but when send the RouterOS file to file option windows, or by ftp, both remotely, it return a invalid key error without storing new RouterOS version on target router, is there any other option besides netinstall (floppy, serial or ether interface) without being physical present on branch offices?

I have try this with RouterOS version of the rb200’s, since there a warning in user manual not to do it with pc-intel or rb500 RouterOS updated file. Any other version from 2.9 and on, causes same problem, so what are my chances and option to keep this routers updated?

Any comment will be most appreciated, Regards

Cayetano.

If you actually have RouterOS v2.6 and v2.8 (no typos) then these versions are too old to support new packages and new licenses.

You need clean install with new license to get latest software.
