Today I ran software upgrade on a 2017 mAP mini. It was running 6.39.3, and I upgraded it to 6.45.7, the last version I vetted before I sold the wireless business. When it came back up, I couldn’t log in with either the established password (with which I had just been in) or the default password. I tried Winbox’s Legacy Mode both ways, no soap. I ended up having to reinitialize with the button, then recreate the configuration.
I know there was a change (probably between those two releases somewhere) from insecure to secure passwords, and that’s probably what tripped me up. Is there something specific I was supposed to do before upgrading a router between those two releases so as not to get locked out of it afterwards?
(Curiously, I upgraded a mAP lite from and to those same releases as part of the same task, and lost nothing. Very confusing.)
