I know this question has more than likely already been posted before.
I am just getting back into working with my Mikrotik routers again.
I have never upgraded a router OS before.
I have been researching it on the Mikrotik WiKi’s.

Also, inside Winbox, when I clck the license menu… It tells me the following info: SOftware ID Key:xxxxx Upgradeable To: v3.x Level:4 ..
Since the Upgradeable To: specifies v3.x can I upgrade from 2.946 straight into 4.16
or, should I upgrade from 2.946 to 3.30 first then from 3.30 to 4.16?
Its been 3 years since I bought these boards and never upgraded them. Will I be forced to buy a new license key if I want to upgrade them?
