Upgrade from 951 to 2011

Hi,

When upgrading from one routerboard to another I have generally started the configuration from scratch. This was also the advice on the MTCNA course.

I’ve got projects coming up where I need to upgrade from 951s to a 2011s.

The config is fairly substantial and I’m wondering what people’s thoughts are when I consider backing up the 951 and applying that to the 2011.

Obviously I will test this in the lab first!

I’m also considering just exporting the main parts (routing table etc) and then applying them to the 2011. Perhaps better!

Any suggestions?

Do the transfer from export script file block by block and think first before pasting into terminal.
