Upgrade problems!!!

Suddenly today my xr2 card and 433ah started to shw different things like channel band and the wireless protocol like 802.11, unspecified, any, nstreme, nv2 etc.

After this change 2 of my clients cannot be seen. actually i dont remember changing nething…just rebooted my routerboard n whn it came bck up it was so different. abt 1 mnth bck i had changed RoS from 4.11 to 4.16. i dnt think it ws my first reboot after the OS upgrade

how do i connect my clients …also whn i scan my area i can see only 1 other provider. thr used to be almost 30 others but thy r now invisible

Dear ,

Firstly, do

reset configuration

for card XR2 , this is return the card to default and check if work or not .
Secondary , if not work please check the :
frequency mode set on

manual txpower

and check the location make it on

no_country_set

.

The Upgrade for the RB good when use the supper channel but you don’t use the supper channel .

check it and let me know for any update .

Looks like you did indeed upgrade the Routerboard! It also looks like you are now using nv2 protocol in error?

On the AP make sure you have wireless protocol set to “Nv2-nstreme-802.11”. Your clients might then reconnect? Or try “unspecified” which is what it should be by default (that is to say, as it was before the upgrade)

See “http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Nv2#Migrating_to_Nv2

i tried unspecified and any etc. but that did not help.i changed the radio and INFACT that did not help either.
I then discovered that if i am going above channel 6 then i am not able to connect to any client. and hence all radios(AP’s) using channel 7 and above are not visible to me.

Only the radio dat is at channel 11 on my own tower is visible. But at channel 11 no clients connect either. Is it something wrong with my sector or something due to interference.

Oki , you want to increase the channel to 13 , please set the country to : France and select the channel to 13 , in this case you will out the noise available in air.

Setting your regulatory domain to anything other than the regulatory domain you’re in is not a good idea.

i tried channel 13. it is permitted here. but that doesnt wrk either. i tried channel 1-6 ..all clients connect ..only ccq differs. but abv cHAnnel 6 nothing wrks

Agree with fewi, always make sure you select the country you are really located in, only select France if you are really in France!

If using winbox, after changing the country, click apply, then perform a frequency scan. You probably have some local high interference levels on channels 6-11. But the freq scan will help you to understand what is going on.

If you have no control over this interference, you will have to use a channel as far away as possible, maybe Ch1? Try to only use channels 1,6 or 11 when choosing a channel to operate on. Ch6 may not be far enough away from the high noise / interference. So this may only leave you with one choice, Ch1.

Interference and congestion are two of the biggest problems with using 2.4GHz!

i am using channel 3 and it is giving me high ccq. also freq. usage scan shows Noise Floor to be least on channel 3 and 4. Getting almost 81-82
Sometimes noise floor is low on channel 6 but that is for very short period. (79-80)

Other channels above 6 have higher noise except 11,12,13. Like 77, 66, 67 respectively. I have used Channel 13 for a long time but some eqt. on this sectors did not have option for channel 13 so i had to choose other channels.

I suppose my approach to a stable network is correct. I do not see very high noise floor or usage on channel 7-13 but do not know why my sector is not showing any AP’s on those channels.

10 days back if i wld scan i will get almost 35+AP’s now it has come down to 5-10. I am sure they r not closing down because of our good services
