Upgrade RB532 from 2.9.7 to 4.5, reboot doesn't upgrade

When I reboot my RB532 routers that are running 2.9.7 (or 2.9.:sunglasses:, they don’t install the upgrade package (either routeros-mipsle-4.5.npk or routeros-mipsle-3.30.npk or individual packages)
The routerboard firmware is 1.5
Any ideas why this isn’t working?

you must use Netinstall because your license is too old

So there is no way I can do this without connecting to the serial port of the board? (That’s going to be fun!)

Can’t it be upgraded to 3.30, then update licensce, install 4.5???

How do I upgrade to 3.30 when the .npk package is there but it doesn’t load on reboot? It sounds like I have to use Netinstall, which will be really fun if I must connect to them via serial cable, as the units are all up on rooftops.

Hurrah! This is how I did it.
1 - upgrade the firmware to 2.18 using rc32434-2.18.fwf
2 - upgrade to 2.9.34
3 - upgrade to 2.9.51
I am currently testing here, but I don’t anticipate any problems upgrading to 3.30, as the license was upgraded successfully (so far!) I will then evaluate my upgrade to 4.5
Baby steps, baby!
