upgrade RouterOS v2.9.27

I have Mikrotik routerOs v2.9.27 Level 6 install in Intel PC. I try to upgrade to routerOS v4.4 so I put routeros-x86-3.30.npk in the files but after reboot nothing happened and the npk file remain as it is .

How can I upgrade my ststem to v4.4

did u try to copy all packages separately?

I copy the combined package only. I also try the separate packages but the result the same.

I put the package in the main folder using ftp. Then reboot but nothing happen and the packages remain as normal file and it didn’t get absorbed

Note: I have intel PC. Is my RouterOS version is upgradeable

hai fren,
no, as far as i remember starting v2.9.28 or highest version should be with netinstall tool to verify your license key..

My main workstation is connected to a home router (LAN: 192.168.2.1 , WAN:192.168.1.10). the router is connected to Mikrotik server( LAN 192.168.1.1).
In Winbox, I don’t neet to connect the workstation directly. I can just access Mikrotik using 192.168.1.1. Does this work with netinstall

Most of the article I found is about installing RouterOS. How can I upgrade using netinstall

and make sure your board PXE BOOT supported

How to make sure that my dedicated PC server support PXE BOOT
here they are taking about install. Is it the same for upgrade and does it keep the current setting?

you don’t need to use PXE, you can just take that HDD, put it as a secondary one in some windows PC, and use Netinstall to install RoutrOS v4.4 onto that drive.

This will work only if you have a valid, purchased license on the drive.
