Upgrade Wireless device on Dude

I have a problem with upgrade Wireless MiktoTik devices on The Dude.
When I Click on Dude Upgrade Device and I chooce version tu pgrade I get Upgrade status: “some packages unavailable”.
I have import all packages for all devices, but one packages are different name: “wireless@”.
Has anyone had a similar problem with the update?

I have not found anything new in this link.
I need to upgrade by this method: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Upgrading_RouterOS_with_Dude
I don’t see the “+” icon to add package files to update AP from The Dude.
When performing an update, the message about the lack of a package pops up, the problem is with the “wireless” package.
I do not believe that nobody has such problems.
I tried this on two routers, RB750Gr3 and CCR1009-7G-1C-1S +.
I even uploaded the firmware to them via Netinstall.
The problem has always been the same: “some packeges unavailable”

This is an old guide.
Now you’ve got to upload packages (or any other files - background images, device icons, etc) directly to the root directory of dude server (via winbox or ftp). Example: dude is installed in the directory /disk1/dude, so you need to upload packages to that folder.
Here is the correct link: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:The_Dude_v6/Files

I did not have any problem with uploading files. I did exactly as you described it.
But after uploading all available packages, I can’t update devices with the “wlan” interface.
I will also add information that all packages are installed separately:

  • dhcp-6.41.2-mipsbe.npk
  • mpls-6.41.2-mipsbe.npk
  • routing-6.41.2-mipsbe.npk
  • security-6.41.2-mipsbe.npk
  • system-6.41.2-mipsbe.npk
  • wireless-6.41.2-mipsbe.npk
    .
    .
    .
In Dude console → Files → Packages I see: wireless@
Why on end name wireless package is “@”, only on wireless, nowhere else.

I’ve never had such issue with packages, though I upload and update all devices with common package, not separately. Did you try another ros versions (release candidate maybe)?

Try… Its not working…
I have same problem from 6.14.x and to this time.

Hello,
I have same problem, wirelless package didn’t uploading to RB via Dude upgrage. Is it bug ? Other packages has been uploaded correctly.

Yes. I have the same Issue with 6.42.4. Currently updating to 6.42.5 to test.

Just updated to 6.42.5 and I have the same behavior. “wireless@” at the package list.

I will keep looking for solutions for this.

Same here … if Routerboard is installed with single packages from the “all-packages… zip” , then the wireless package detected by DUDE’s upgrade system is “wireless@”.

However, for units installed with the “Main” package “routeros--…npk” (and maybe additional single packages), the DUDE’s upgrade function works just fine.

I suppose this may be a relict of the multiple wireless-packages that where floating around many months ago.(wireless-CM and so on).

@Mikrotik: maybe you can fix the single wireless package in the “all-packages… zip” to carry the proper internal package name (without the “@” sign that DUDE sees) , or just make dude ignore the “@” in the package name maybe?

Mikrotik Support, how long we have to wait until you are fix it ???

It’s probably not a big bug?

Manual update of each MikroTik device isthen really time-consuming and boring.

If you can’t deal with it, are do in to the dude menu button: “check for updates” and “download and install”. It will always be faster than I going directly to the device and updating.

Slavko, with a little fantasy you could create a “Tool” for that purpose i guess.

Yes, I know I can do it in a million other ways  But once it worked very well. I had it divided into device groups. Separately end customers, separate bridges and separately business customers.
It worked very well. Unfortunately, after a great comeback with the latest version of Dude it does not work.
At that time, I had monitoring of the entire network and a global update tool in one place. Nobody wants to fix it. In AirControl 2 (UBNT) it works without problems for many years.

I can also confirm this issue. No matter what package is installed on device (wireless, wireless-rep, wireless-cm2), all devices with wireless package fails to upgrade with error message “some packages unavailable”. If you try to do Force Upgrade - device reboots with no WLAN interface and you have to go to the site to manually upload wireless.npk. Upgrade feature is basically useless on The Dude for now. The Wireless package shows wireless@ in pkg name.

It’s strange, that MT is silent about it.

It looks like The Dude project has died.
The strange thing is that they created devices on which the Dude server works fine. But they killed the idea of The Dude’s functionality. The administrator would like to monitor all devices and update them with one click as it is in AirControl2 UBNT. But unfortunately it’s almost a year now and nobody repairs it.
MikroTik is not ashamed of you?

If has died then the administrator should clear this up.

same problem here! i need to upgrade 800+ devices, but its not working cuz of the wirelesse package.

You might want to try to put just the routeros package on the dude.
the wireless packages is included in the Main package

I upgraded lots of devices thru the dude and that worked flawlessly
