Hi all, This is a question to the gurus or them of who are in the “know” I received my RB 112 and looked at the license and it says upgrade time expires october 31st… so it has expired, so i tried to update anyways.. i dont think it work it is still version 2.9.27… what im trying to do is create a radius server using user-manager… did version 2.9.27 have user-manager? and if not how much would it cost to expand my upgrade period, i have no real reason to get a higher license just i think i mite need to upgrade to accomplish this.. Read abount Netinstall first - then do a Netinstall this will allow you to update your RB112 - license and all.

I dont want to re-do the license lol. i dont have a license to replace it, but i guess what your saying is reinstall the OS using netinstall (which I have) but it will not get rid of my license. But will it get rid of my current configuration? and if so how do I save my confiuration and reload it after i finish my install? thanks thom. -Jordan

Do a backup - under /files in Winbox. You can also do an export - just be sure to give it a filename - read the manual on these two commands.
Once you have the files - ftp in to the router, download the files to you PC. Save them there. Do a netinstall, get the basic IP in place, turn on FTP, and then upload your backup, reboot - you should be good to go…
I have done netinstall before - it depends on the version of ROS whether or not your configuration will get reset or not…
It will not ‘delete’ your license.

you don’t have to re-license it. Netinstall will just upgrade it and will not touch the license.
