upgrading from LHG 5 ac

Hi,

I currenty have two LHG 5 ac (5Ghz, 20/40/80Mhz, NV2) covering about 2.3Km PtP bridge. Distance isn’t much but there are some trees in between.

The link is stable and there are no problems whatsover, However I can reach at most a real 7-10Mbps speed (average latency 13ms).

Upgrading to LHG 5 xl would increase the speed? if so, how much I can hope to get? My goal would be to reach 50Mbps … in case, any alternatives?

Thanks

This really depends on the density of trees inbetween. With good signal and low noise i would expect 100+mbps on a link like this. I would use 802.11 on a ptp link, my experience has been higher throughout than nv2 (only on ptp)

What are your signals? (Chain 0 and Chain 1)
Are you sure you are on a clean channel?

An xl antenna will provide an extra +3db signal per each side you put one on. So would +6db be good enough to improve your situation?

If your signal is too low you are likely better off, provided you are not in a interference rich area, to go to a 2.4ghz solution as this will penetrate leaves on the trees much better.
