Im trying to upgrade the routerOS of my routerboard 433ah using netinstall, however the only harddisk that i can see is my computers hard disk, before,I can see the router as an option and now I cant see it. I also tried to drag the OS package using winbox on files and rebooted the router but the OS remains the same. I dont want to install mikrotik routeros on a partition on my hdd or even on vmware or flopp because I wont be using it with a PC, so I need to install or upgrade the built in routeros of my mikrotik. Thanks.
you don’t need to use Netinstall. Upgrade can be done by simple drag-and-drop to Winbox Files window. Download the new RouterOS package NPK file, drag it to Files window, and reboot the router.
if tried it already, but when i reboot, the OS remains the same,
read the log file to see why this happened
If it does not upgrade as expected check the log for a reason.
What version are you current using and what version are you upgrading to?

im currently using version 3.10 and im upgrading to 3.25
did you look in the log or not?
not yet, im unable to access it using winbox anymore, maybe its because I upgraded router OS using vmware and it was successful, however, I believe that it cannot work without the vmware mikrotik powered on, so what I did, I tried to reset it by putting metal into the golden part while turning it on,still no luck ,im unable to access it using winbox..
we have mikrotiks at mountain tops, I’m going to upgrade the software, this better not erase my config and I have to go up there!
