Upgrading RouterOS 3.25 to 4.6

I have updated the from Router OS 3.25 to 4.6 on two 411 boards. In Winbox when I try to Update the license I get a failed message. The is no indication in the license box that the license will expire and says license can upgrade to 5.x and has a 8 digit key.

The PC I am using Winbox on can access the Microtik website. If I use Winbox on another 411 board with 3.25 I get a software key up to date message.

There is no indication the software license will expire after 24+ hours since loading 4.6 and there is a 8 digit license key. Do I still need to update the license?

If you read the whole failed message, I’m guessing you see:

failed: License key is up to date!

That is a good failure.

if you already have 8 symbol soft-id and router displays that you have license level >0 everything is it should be and no upgrades are needed.

Just for the future - license upgrade from 3.30 is recommended, as older versions might have complications.
