UPnP and Socks

Hi,

The UPnP feature on my 2.8 system does not have some of the features listed in the docs like allow-disable-external-interface and show-dummy-rule. Does that mean I have an older version than is covered in docs?

I find the UPnP does not function with all applications that are suposed to support UPnP either but some do appear to trigger port forwards.

Also I have found simmilar issues with socks proxy. Some applications are fine but others just don’t work with it but do with other types of socks proxies?

Anybody know why?

I would like socks5 support. It’s only socks4 and doesn’t work with lot of applications.

It doesnt seem to work with some that do?

Ask mikrotik to add Socks5 support :stuck_out_tongue:

It seems to me that UPnP works pretty good in v2.9.
DC++ works, Windows messenger works i think. MSN Messenger finally works. Some do, some dont, UPnP has many “standards” to be a standard.

I wish there was a way for the router to control the amount of polling of statistics that windows does.

I guess i’m gonna have to upgrade. I thought that might be the case.

Thanks for the info

Should have done it first really but upgraded to latest 2.8 after paying a new licence but I’m glad I did because now the UPnP feature works fine. It must have been the old version I had was no good. Hopefully some other weird things will be improved.

I had 2.8.21 version before?

check changelog, for 2.8 version:
