Uptime setup

In our environment we use MT with simple AP as clients in the 2,4GHz range.

MT has this refresh cycle every 5 minutes.

Does someone knows how to change this setup.

Also, does someone have registration problems after this 5 minutes’ cylce (that is, APs cannot connect again or takes long - 2 min.)? We are runnig into this issue for a second time and the problem seems to happen mostly at night (or the higher utilization period).

(I also checked that in the recent wireless FAQ - if this setup is possible, it would be nice to have it there).

Are you talking about Group-Key-Update or which option ?
interface wireless security-profile set group-key-update=
to change it.

or you are talking about ‘registration-table’ updates,
use ‘interface wireless set wlan1 update-stats-interface=…’

how often to update (request from the clients) signal strength and ccq values in /interface wireless registration-table’.

Thanks for the answer

After analyzing the parameter group-key-update, I realized that was it.
I searched before in the manual and posts but could not find that this was the parameter that controled the cycle I meant.

As for registration-table updates, I am not sure about its functionality. In my systems they are disabled. If you can give me a glimpse on how it works, would be fine.

That’s exactly the uptime column in the registration-table I refered in my question. And it was solved with the group-key-update.

Do you (or anyone) have any idea of why sometimes clients take long to register when a new registration cycle starts.

We just changed the MT for a new board with new wireless cards. So far it seems better (registration is faster and everyone gets registred).
Does the wireless card wears out quickly (or better, which is the average life of such a card)?
