I have a network running but i just setup a hotspot on mikrotik. The problem am facing now is that when the network becomes slow or precisely when i tried pinging the DNS server and the reply time gets above 3000ms, all the users on the mikrotik can no longer browse but other users on the other Vlan can still browse though slow.
Please is there a way i can increase the linger time or routing time or timeout (anything) on the mikrotik router.
please treat this as urgent as we are already considering removing the mikrotik completely since other network are still browsing though slow.
Removing the mikrotik would be the best approach if it is as urgent as you say.
You need to do more testing and work out where you have mucked up your config.
Also, before you take it out, check the processor usage and make sure you haven’t maxed the device out (logical reason why it would grind to a halt)
Am using V2.9.45,
when my network ping becomes high above 2500ms, systems connected to the mikrotik can no longer find server but other system on other network not connected to the mikrotik still browses though a bit slow.
When are still troubleshooting the cause of the high ping though but in a mean time why dose the mikrotik network web pages timeout so soon while other network are still browsing.
see what cpu-load is at, as mentioned before.
Also, are you running any specific firewall configuration or anything that could be either causing lateny or blocking connections?
