USA QRT-5 regulatory selection problem

I received a new 911G-5HPnD-QRT-US (QRT-5). My intent was to use this for PTP service in the 5.1gHz band. The problem is that in the country dropdown, the only choices I have are “canada2” and “united states3”. The “united states” selection which includes the 5.1 band is missing. I opened a support request and got back the answer “RB911G-5HPnD-QRT-US (USA) is factory locked for 5170-5250MHz and 5725-5835MHz frequencies. This lock can not be removed”. Well, I know that. I’m just trying to get the 5170-5250 band as advertised, and when I pointed that out, support did not reply (yet). I’ve tried doing a NetInstall of both 6.45.9 and 6.47.1, but no luck. At the same time, I got in a pair of US LHG-XL’s, and they have the proper “united states” dropdown when running 6.45.9. “canada2” includes the proper 5.1 band, but it is power restricted below what the US allows for PTP operation. I’m afraid I know the answer (software bug), but I was hoping some of the more experienced Mikrotik wireless users might know what I’m missing.

Thanks

not shure if we’re talking the same issue … but choosing the reg-domain can be sometime kinky for a MTik-Device.
Sometimes (or always?) there is a predefined min/max antenna gain to be set, before you can choose the related country-reg-domain and installation-environment*.
If there’s the wrong value in winbox for that value (guess also when trying in CLI) , you earn a “you failed : )” from the system.
.
not shure what US (indoor/outdoor/PtP) freqs and antrenna-gains are actual in need … but maybe this can be a hint to solve your problem ?!
.
*) in “good-old” some 5Ghz frequencies are reserved for PtP-Links (good idea … seldom thing here nowadays) … but if you haven’t choose the related installation-‘cause’ you’re not able to choose the necessary reg-domain
.
the picture is not aligned to the PtP-example … but the issue was the same .. couldn’t choose ‘good old’ … without min 2dBi Gain

Thanks, tried the real 24dBi antenna setting, still no love.

And as far as PTP set-asides, it appears the FCC has dropped those from the regulations, as far as I can find.

just had a look into my account … there’s the possibilty to request a country-key-lock for a device
.
so maybe you can do that (cause the PtP-has default- and permanent license ?!) for your legit serial ?!
.
maybe you should push again support-side … your Tik’l comes with a support-period for the hardware … it’s a sealed deal
.

.
.
so maybe an “older” image-version brings your wireless-link to live : |
.
but you can consider yourself: youre on the ‘axe of evil’ than : )

Thanks,
Hmmm, that country lock looks like it locks a single value in. If I apply a lock for “united states”, but that’s not one of the current selections, I may lock myself out.

I did send support a bump again today. We’ll see what happens.

thumbs up !
