i have RB411U with version 3.30, in USB port is pluged USB modem huawei E160 from T-mobile CZ (there is special fw with t-mobile windows sw for general users, i dont know how delete this part) and I have problem, that sometimes not reguraly the connection fail! If I reboot the routerboard situation is same, for a long time the ppp connection start work again.
I have seen this “stream” with the Sprint 598U modems…
What version of RouterOS?
The latest 3.X version was to have the keep alives altered…
I dont know if this made it to 4.X yet…
If you click on status under the ppp-client (tmobile in your case) it will very likly dissconnect the modem..
If the “dial on demand” flag set?.. If so and you want ithe link to automatickle recover from hang ups and not wait for traffic, then clear that option… (Dial on demand should be off for an “allways on” connection)
Remember that T-Mobile has a 5G limit on the 3Gs… overage is very $$$$ unless you got a contract that allows it..
Also T-mobile FORBIDS the use of the 3G device on a network device… (on the trerms of use on their website)..
