A BGP option to always use med comparison for best path selection would be a GREAT (I would say essential) feature.
At this moment there is no way, for example, to skip eBGP over iBGP preference (useful in A/A edges with asymmetrical ISPs upstreams).
A simple option like "always-compare-med" would be resolutive, avoiding kludge hacks to patch routes via local preference.
