I would like to use router OS as an AP for multiple devices (not just for other mikrotik based radios). What is the max number of connected clients has anyone used in the real world. I was working with the wrt54gl’s with linux based firmware, had the max client set 100 but the units would die before they loaded up to 100 clients. It’s all low bandwidth applications, so I’m not worried about throughput, but I do need the clients to be able to associated with the AP.
Anyone with real world experience please post your numbers along with the hardware used. Currently I have some of the RB411Rs to try with this.
