PLEASE release a new version of the R52 with MMCX connectors, you could even call it the R52M
The IPEX/U-FL connectors are terrible, it is hard to get the connectors on and very easy to damage them. They are also not very secure, and the majority of the connectors I have seen look like the plug is about to pop off due to the tension from the pigtail cable.
If the cost of connectors is too high, I wouldnt mind paying a bit more for one with MAIN and AUX MMCX, or you could release a card with a single MMCX connector.
i’ve got medium sized fingers, but still dont seem to be able to get IPEX/U-Fl connectors on without using pliers, which can easily lead to damaging the connector.
I could just buy XR5’s but I do not need that sort of power, and they are two to three times the price.
great tech support suggestion YOUR TOO FAT TO BE A WIRELESS ISP!
lots of companies say just deal with the problem and no matter HOW big they are sooner or later they disappear.
Great idea but why not go one step farther.. SMA or RPSMA.. oh but that would make it easier and cheaper and more reliable and we cant have just regular old fat guys making their own pig tails they need to keep us paying $10 plus shipping for them.
Ok, I have been doing a few more as of late. It appears that the problems I was having are more related to the u-fl connectors used on Mikrotik’s Pigtails, they are warper towards the side that the lead is on making it VERY hard to connect them without damaging the connector on the card.
When connecting the small dipole antennas Mikrotik also sell, they go on very easily.
I still think these connectors are appalling and wish there was something more secure and robust.
