I have Spare SXT units that are all The LTE6 and LTE kit models.
I would like to use them to make Wireless Point to point and/or Point to multipoint links.
How can this be done?
Is there a way to turn my SXT6 LTE unit into an AP and then use another SXT6 LTE as the Station?
SXT LTE kit and SXT LTE6 kit devices come with ROS licence level 3 … which doesn’t allow to configure its wifi interface as AP or AP-bridge.
So these units are only usable for PtP links (one is bridge, the other is station-bridge) or as spoke devices in PtMP (where hub is AP-bridge and spokes are station-bridge).
Can you tell me how to configure the SXT LTE as a PTP with another SXT LTE?
I have tried but get stuck at the part to add LTE Interface to the Bridge… no option to do so.
AFAIK, it’s an LTE antenna, and there is no Wi-Fi*. So if you want to make a PtP link OVER an LTE network, you can do that.
But you cannot just use two SXT-LTE6 without some LTE network. In the US, you can use LTE Band 48 to create your on LTE network, but you need a eNB/etc hardware for that & the SXT-LTE6 does not support CBRS/Band48.
*although I suppose you could replace the LTE modem inside, with some older R11e 2Ghz miniPCIe Wi-Fi module – but the antenna isn’t tuned for 2.4Ghz and almost certainly not 5Ghz.
Thank you all. Really appreciate the info. All of a sudden this is not cost effective so moving on to use proper equipment.
Thought I could take advantage of some old stock.
