User don't have access to any email service via wifi.

Hello guys,

here I describe my incidence: I have many problem every time I configure the hotspot service. but the user can’t have access to any email services including webmail services like hotmail.com. Is kind curious because is the user connect direct to the ADSL router via ethernet the email works in other words can recieve and send email, but via Mikrotik wireless not.

have some one has any clue.

Use the latest 2.9.43 version, it should work fine with default router, HotSpot, firewall configuration.

what do you mean, that opening http://www.hotmail.com works, but logging into the email system doesn’t? whats the difference?

I mean every time user connect directly to the ADSL Lan side, the user can use the hotmail, or can have access to their email server. but If a user connects via wireless using the Mikrotik hotspot service user can’t have access to any emails services. not recieving and not sending, is like the port 25 and 110 get block or somethig.

Let me tell you the mikrotik is connected to the ADSL Lan to expands wifi signal.

  2. Does wireless user is authenticated at HotSpot, when he/she is trying to access the mail ?

i think they cann’t access https.
try to recheck on hotspot profile.. :wink:

yes the users get autehticate indeed. and the firmware version we are using is 2.9.30.
