I am from srikanth from India. Here Government of India has passed regulations to ISPs. One of them is to maintain user Logs. user browsing details kind of stuff. As some E- Mail threats has been sent by some people. ISPs have to provide information to the government if it occur in their network.We have to maintain logs for at least one year. So can anybody support me to take user Logs. It would be a great help. Thanks in advance.

Browsing history you can log if you will use Transparent Proxy, ie. redirect all web traffic to webproxy. To the user this will be invisible, but your Webproxy facility will be able to save logs of each IP address and it’s visited sites.
If you want complete activity history in Raw form, you can use Sniffer to save all traffic for a specific user, or use the CALEA facility which is something similar

thanx for the quick reply Normis. is there some script to save user log at night 11-50 pm. I have no idea if we can submit the raw log !!!can somebody tell me the script ???

You really need to save all information about all traffic from these users?
CALEA is a similar requirement in USA, maybe it’s useful to you also. RouterOS can gather Calea data:

Only Calea server requires calea package. Clients routers can participate in Calea without calea package.

I installed one ROS 4.0 Beta with calea (AS Calea Server) and ROS 4.0 Beta without calea (as Client) for testing. Both are installed on PCs only.I can see streams on both Server and Client PCs in torch with port 5555 but no data is saved on data retention server. On server torch TX-Rate is 0 kbps and on client router RX-Rate is 0 kbps. I completely followed Manual. In place of Access point I placed a client router. Please help me.
