I`m trying to set up a small WISP system based on PPPoE/Usermanger on a RB1000.
For clients I will use different rate limits.
1Mbps down, 300Kbps up
3Mbps down, 700Kbps up
6Mbps down, 1Mbps up
When adding new users it would be nice to be able to link customer to a profile that has these rate limits, so that I will not have to specify each time.
Also say if I change the 1Mbps down, 300Kbps up to 1,5Mbps down, 400Kbps up in the future I only have to edit profile, not all users.
Under Profiles in the Usermanger web interface it seems like this is a possibility, but I can`t figure out how to assign a profile to a user…
Yes, profiles are designed for the same behavior, but currently User Manager profiles are available at the v4.0beta, and profiles do not work correctly now. We are working on it.
As per my experience! Mt team don’t like to work in pressure so they will never give any estimate time limit & whenever they will be in mood they will release it.
I just seem to remember that girts sayed that it would be released last month.
So I have been checking the download link several times per day after that.

As you can see, adding profiles involves lot of work. That is the reason, why new version has not been released for a relatively long period of time. You would be more unsatisfied when a version containing only several of these features would be released.
First 9 steps are complete, two still left. New version will be released, when step 10 is complete (backoff-limitation interface is not so crucial, new version can be released without it).
Yes, the release was planned at the start of July, but it will be released several weeks later - hopefully this week.

If its not ready then at least fix the current bugs & release it without profiles.
don’t know what u get making fool of your customers, after waiting so long my interest on MT almost finished. I have set MT download page as my homepage & opens it hundreds of times per day like an idiot “Hoping someday this dead body will speak”. You can fool me but i cannot fool my seniors & my boss. they trusted me & my fault was i trusted MT. The day when new UM was released i asked them buy license that time i was not knowing that i will have to suffer so much trouble & my seniors found other pppoe servers with UM management & now my boss think that i have wasted his money on MT server because it is useless from 2 months. You don’t know how badly i need it else i will lose my job.
you should hire more programmers or work overtime & off days to complete it. you people are not serious about it & never worked as a challenge.
