User Manager Download Limit

Hi,

I’m using 2.9.40
When ever I try to create a user with a download limit of over 4.2 gigabytes it always reverts back to 4294967295 bytes.
Is there a way to specify a download limit of over 4.2 gigabytes.

I second this question.

I get calls from time to time and have to manually clear the user’s usage and add another eg 2GB (if it is a 6B user)

This appears to be the same with 2.9.43.. any luck changing this?

That and as another thought, is there a way to specify both data and time on a purcahse item, rather than just more time?

I’m assuming the 4.2gb limit is due to the giga-word value restrictions?

I sometimes wonder if all posts are actually read by Mikrotik programmers…

Perhaps they think no-one will ever use more than 4.2GB…

Please Mikrotik, help us!

bump

Hmmm… 14 days since my last post, and counting…

Mikrotik: Are there any plans to increase this limitation? It shouldn’t be too difficult, right?

Note, that forum is community discussion, if you think you have found the issue with MikroTik RouterOS, you must contact support department about this issue.
Could you clarify the issue ?
Let’s assume, we have configured user with the following parametrs,
‘tool user-manager user add name=“112” password=“” download-limit=6000000000’,
limit should be equal to 6Gb, but user is able to use only 4.2 ?

Limit should be equal to 6gb, but will show up as only 4.2gb when the user logs in.

(Both in the status window and data limit if you’re using winbox)

Yes, thank you for the report. User Manager has some issues for the larger values, we will try to fix it.
Next time you have to contact support department, if you are experiencing any issues with routeros.

Hi all

I’m fully aware that the forum is a community discussion form, but the MT programmers also read and reply to our posts. Especially suggestions and such.
I was hoping more people would reply with the same request or problem so the programmers could give more attention to it.

For now I have to manually update certain users once or twice a month.

Regards, Giepie

The particular issue will be resolved in the next RouterOS version.

Thanks for looking into this.

Regards,
Andrew

Once again if you found issue with User Manager, the fastest way to track it down contact support department (support@mikrotik.com), try to include as much details as possilbe, as well include support output file if it is needed.

2.9.44 version contains fix for upload/download limit version is already released.

Hi

I have another request which has sort of to do with this thread.

It would be ideal if you had alternate settings for Static IP or IP Pools. The default setting would be for users who have not yet reached their cap, and the alternate Static IP or Pool will be assigned once the user are capped.

We have a new law here in SA which forces us to give unlimited or uncapped local traffic, only international may be capped.

Re, G

I can’t change the volume and bandwidth in Mikrotik User Manager version 7.9.
Can anyone guide or help me?
Thankful

Hi,
Can someone help me because I have a problem with accounting, when I sent a 4MB file, for example, the volume uploaded in user manager session exceeds 4MB, Note that I use a router mikrotik CCR1016-1S+ for NAS and RADIUS at the same time.
Thanks for your help.

Limits on User manager or hotspot use Simple queue. If you have configured Fasttrack then it will be bypass those Simple queue.

Good Morning all

I know that the post is very old but i have the same situation at CHR 7.17 . When ever I try to create a user with a download limit of 10 gigabytes it always shows at active users of Hotspot -->Active–>$user–> Limit Bytes Total 4294 967 295 bytes and not the 10G
