You’ll note that the User-manager generated report omits two users altogether and for four of the six users it accounts for the period 7 March - 11 March rather than 1 - 11 March, or at least appears to. User ‘Don’ probably hasn’t used any data in the current month and user ‘Jenny’ may not have logged on since 2 March. However user ‘Tony’ is me and I’ve used the network regularly this month.

As administrator I am left with severe doubts about the reliability of User-Manager when it comes to billing customers for usage.

If you will look at the users information,
e.g. the particular user,
6 subscriber=admin name=“don” password=“*****” ip-address=10.100.1.20
uptime-used=3w4d10h11m12s download-used=166311806 upload-used=21958890
last-seen=jan/13/2007 20:37:46 credit-count=0 credit-left=0s
credit-duration=0s credit-price=0 credit-time-added=0s
‘last-seen’ is jan/13/2007

and this user ‘last-seen’ is not provided,
7 subscriber=admin name="jenny

Hello sergejs.

You’re right. But that’s just as cut and pasted from the console, so the console omitted it. Moreover the HTML report shows 'Jenny" as active on 1 and 2 March at least.

This is the console entry as at today:

[admin@Saddle-Low] tool user-manager user> print

The rest have vanished completely.

OK, Don wasn’t active in March but what I -and the users - need from this is simply to know how much of their monthly allowance they’ve used.

In December I prepared an XL database that enabled me to cut and paste the data in the generated report into an XL worksheet that gave me a snapshot of this information - ie. date, data used for month, %of monthly allowance used. But if the report omits users altogether that cut-and-past becomes useless as some of the users go into the wrong row.

And why does the User-Manager report “start” for some users on 7th March and for others on the 1st, which was the date I asked for. Is it only accounting usage from that date.

And where am I, Tony, on that report? I’m on the Net every day and am the heaviest user?

We will try to check out where is the problem.
