I have read and applied all I have searched on this forum and the Internet about getting User Manager to work as Radius with Hotspot service. I keep getting the error “Radius server did not respond”. I am using Routeros 4.11 on a PC.
What could I be missing? Could someone who’s got it working please assist? I am a newbie trying to get this thing to work, and I have spent far too many hours trying to find a solution but in vain. Please HELP!
usually it’s the password or Radius server IP.
sometime people forget to tick Radius in the HotSpot profile.
I have the IP as 127.0.0.1, hotspot is ticked in hotspot profile
RADIUS is also ticked in Hotspot profile ?
You need :-
HotSpot profile : log in by mac,pap,chap etc. Use Radius ticked.
In Radius: IP address of radius server, HotSpot, username/password
On the Radius Server itself: username/password/IP address alloed to access.s
I finally got it running after following one post that gives this advice:
make sure that the user manager router IP and password are the same as the radius IP
I have done all of my configurations using Winbox.
To check that the above configuration condition is so, I checked from “New Terminal” as follows:
/tool user-manager router print
and
/radius print
Just thought it might help someone spend a lot less time in sorting out this irritating yet simple problem to solve!
hey guys i’m still beginner, and hope you can help me in this.
i’m configuring hotspot useing winbox with setup wizerd, i’m getting the same error and i’ve checked several times with the configuration, ive noticed when i disable in firewall → nat → srcnat it works but i can’t access the internet unless i enable it back again.
can you please provide me help how to solve this problem
