Hi, I’d like to know if a new CCR1009 is able to keep the autentication of about 2000 users in pppoe and if yes how much will be large the database?
If the 128MB of nand is not enough can I use a SD plugged into the frontal sd card reader?
I state that the logging will be done by a syslog server on a linux machine sending the routeros firewall rows.
Is this a right approach for the italian law to identify an host activities in a natted network?
This is an example of the syslog server row.

Hi Ibm,
The Mikrotik CCR1009 can support the 2000 users on pppoe since it comes with L6. In terms of database size, it is small in size especially if you are creating users in /ppp secret. it is stored with the routerOS config file and even if you decide to export the /ppp secret alone, the 128MB nand will be ok. You don’t need any additional SD card for this purpose.
For the logs; I really don’t know what the italian law requires but on a general note it is sufficient for identifying an host activities in a natted network.
Thanks a lot, I will use userman for the users account and I found the option in system->stores that allow me to store the database of userman on the sdcard
