Using Agents

So I just installed the new v3.0beta3. Yaaaay! Cut and paste! I also noticed the new Agent feature. This could be really useful for me since I have a few separate networks. Here’s the problem that I’m having. I can add an agent and monitor a device from a remote Dude server, but I can’t seem to use the agent to ping, snmpwalk, etc. Could I be doing something wrong or are these functions not supported?

Thanks.

Anyone? Mikrotik?

I’d like to see mikrotik dude package, so mikrotik can become dude-server, is this possible now, or planned?

It’s already possible in Dude v3 beta …

I hoped so

Can you tell me shortly how, or where to read about it?

Ok, I did some digging, and there’s package available for MT3 - I suppose it’s incompatible with MT2, and there’s no hope of seeing MT2 package? :frowning:

new features go into v3
2.9 receives only bugfixes

Ok, i’ll give MT3 a chance then in one location, and see what goes ka-boom

Hm, nothing went ka-boom. That’s good. However, I have dude 3.0b4 installed, and newest package is dude 3.0b3. Perhaps backwards-compatibilty would be good?

As far as I can tell. The agent is use to establish a connection to the remote network. I then build a submap to scan the rest of the devices in that network. I am thinking that is what you want to do right?

yes, I’ve done it already and it works, just had to downgrade dude to 3.0b3, because 3.0b4 complained that it was too new
