Using BTest to test WAN speed

Per the subject line. I would like to use the Bandwidth
Test tool to test the speed of my 3G WAN backhaul.

I have Mikrotik equipment at both ends and can configure
it at will. The “far” end is using a Cradlepoint IBR 650
in IP Passthrough mode for the 3G link, the “near” end is
on a Cox cable modem. The Cradlepoint has a static IP,
the Cox doesn’t.

I have searched through the forum posts for advice, and there
is a lot of discussion there, but no definitive step-by-step
procedure for setting up the server on the far end and configuring
the client on the near end for testing across the WAN.

Any pointers gratefully accepted.

personally when i try to test across internet using btest looks like my isp is blocking it

I was wondering the same thing. The Cradlepoint has a speed test built-in, but it can only be run 10 times. They say you can also use it with a iperf server, but when I do that, it connects but passes no traffic.

I wonder how you can find out if this is happening, other than asking?

I can drag and drop files to the Mikrotik, and get some info on speed that way, but it’d be nice to have a little written summary after.
