Using hAP ac2 for wired network only

Hi,

I am looking for some help with configuring my hAP ac2 to only work with wired connections, and want to apply filtering to the ports to block certain apps. I have found several videos online showing how to do this for wireless, but none for implementing it for wired connections.

What is the difference between a wired and a wireless interface (in regards to configuring MikroTik)?
Can you please explain functionally what you want to do?

I am still learning how to use Mikrotik devices.
I don't want to use the wireless function on this AP I just want to use it for wired connections, but have filtering on the devices connected to block certain apps.

Look at a wireless interface as if it was a wired interface. All interfaces can be enabled and disabled. Still puzzled by the reason you mention it.

In regards to blocking, don’t try to block using RouterOS. That won’t work. Use a DNS server to handle the blocking.

As noted simply dont ENABLE the wifi interfaces.
As for apps, that is a very expensive proposition for very high end routers…
What is it you actually want to accomplish or are afraid of??
