Using NetWatch to Execute Telnet Script

I’ve been trying to use NetWatch to execute a telnet script. The scripting function works fine when used solely to change the MT internal settings, but it does not seem to work when I try to run telnet. The manual says that to run a script the users must have telnet policy enabled in the /user group directory. I am using the default admin account, which has full access, yet telnet does not show up in the list of available policies (winbox) when I try to create a new script nor am I able to add telnet as a script policy from the console. I tried adding another user name with full access and this didn’t work either. Anybody know what’s going on here?

Without some Expect-like abilities, I don’t see how this could work very well. It sure would be nice to have MTs that could reboot nearby equipment, when needed, though.

Or, it could be used for an external watchdog / deadman’s (deadrouter’s) switch (i.e. every 5 min, login to PDU, schedule power cycle for 10 min later, cancel previously scheduled power cycle).

Would be very nice.
