Hello, I have a RB493AH and I am trying to configure it as a wireless router and I am having some trouble. The following are the steps I have done:
- Configured ether1 port as a DHCP client – had no issues
- Configured eher 2 as a DHCP server-- had no issues
- Configured masquerade firewall – had no issues
- Configured the DNS server — had no issues
-With the above steps I could logon to the internet through the ehther2 port.
Now I needed to be able to go online with the Wlan port and I am having issues. I did the following steps:
- Activated the wireless interface
- Set up a dhcp server on the wireless interface
- Set up the interface as an AP bridge, used the 2.4Ghz A-B band, and set up a SSID.
- Set up an IP address on the Wlan interface.
—Now I have a a very, very weak signal eventhough my laptop is just in the next room ( some times I am not able to see the AP at all). Can someone let me know what I am doing wrong? Thanks for the help.
