I have a an RB-751, but the wireless does not reach all parts of my house. The price of a cheapo repeater or access point was pretty much the same as the MikroTik RB9412nD hAP lite, so I bought this figuring it would probably be the better alternative. However, I’m struggling to connect it as a “wifi extender”. I.e. main router is the RB-751 and hAP lite acts merely as an extender.
What I would prefer is to have the same Wifi SSID using the same password, so that whichever one is accessible in the different areas in my house can be accessed, similar to the setup you’ll have at hotels, etc. where you log onto the wifi one time, but depending on where you are you’re connecting to a different device.
I connected the hAP lite via LAN cable and have tried the various quick set options, but haven’t had much luck in getting it working. I could connect to the hAP lite, but didn’t get any internet connectivity. Is there something that you need to do the RB-751 config to allow this.
Any help would be much appreciated.
