We do daily backups of our routers and if we have a router fail or what not we will use the backup on a new router with new wireless card(s), is there some utility that will let you view the wireless settings from the .backup file or view the configuration all together rather than having another backup using the export feature daily also? I can open the .backup in wordpad or what not and look for some of the SSID’s but I don’t get the frequencies or nstreme, I guess it should be documented but it would be nice just to have some utility to show you the wireless settings since we have 50+ routers out there. Maybe I’m asking too much though. I know this could be useful for a lot of other people! 
It is not possible now (I mean to ignore hardware settings from the interfaces, probably it will be possible in the future).
I believe that your configuration is not changed on daily basis, one week or even two weeks should be enough. Export/import file migh be used as alternative, it is possible to modify export file at any text editor.
Does it work to restore .backup on another router?
We´ve had problems with this. So we use export for
backuping.

Only problem is if you only export you lose your passwords and ssh keys and what not but you get the configuration in plain text which is good, oh well maybe I’m asking too much.
