What’s new in 5.0rc10 (2011-Feb-17 14:06):
*) routing - fixed ipv6 connected routes,
IPv6 connected routes disappeared after interface restart;
*) routing - fixed high CPU usage when adding BGP ipv6 routes;
*) winbox - fixed opening terminal window to KVM instance;
*) winbox - fixed connect button in wireless scan;
*) winbox - fixed make-binding in hotspot hosts;
*) ipsec - fix possible crash when ipv6 is enabled;
*) snmp - add usb power reset (see updated MIB);

I don’t suppose any fix for the AP hang-up or bad connections as mentioned in ROS5rc9 thread have been found/fixed?
Bug in long distance links in nv2 (10mhz, 42km): disconnects. Bug in vlan: put 2 interfaces in bridge (ether or wlan), create vlan “on the bridge”, all works fine. Reboot the router and vlan traffic will stop. There’s no problem in rc7. This just happen with vlan’s on bridges, and i need this mode in many routers. Found the vlan bug in rc9 and rc10, don’t tested in rc8.
PS: To works after reboot i need disable vlan, disable bridge then enable all.
In 5RC7 VLAN works!
RC8 RC9 RC10 doesn’t work!! After reboot to it no MAC in VLAN

Yes petro25, thank you for better clarification.
Crutch for VLAN
To add in automatic loading the following script
/interface vlan set vlan1 use-service-tag=yes
/interface vlan set vlan1 use-service-tag=no
Well and to hope that in following release will correct
We put SR71-A in a couple of x86 and now v5RC9 does not want to upgrade to rc10. It says - router rebooted without proper shutdown. And we can’t change any settings on the wlan interfaces - router reboots “without proper shutdown”.

NetworkPro, attach monitor or COM cable to the router and send the output to support after reboot command (support@mikrotik.com).
petro25, just curios do you have any other interface on the bridge or mac-address assigned to bridge?
When empty VLAN is added to bridge, there is no MAC-address assigned, as soon as admin-mac is set, the same MAC-address is set to VLAN.
+1 , RB411AH , r52n ? It says - router rebooted without proper shutdown. And we can’t change any settings on the wlan interfaces - router reboots “without proper shutdown”.
send file to (support@mikrotik.com).
I’m not petro25
, but in my setup there’s 2 ethernet interfaces in the bridge. In rc7 there’s no problem.
We had a suggestion problem might be in PCI->miniPCI converter voltage may be selected at 5V where as the cards should be given 3.3V http://ubnt.com/downloads/sr71a_datasheet.pdf
The other thing similar to this is - may be not enough power is getting to the card and we would need to solder fatter wires onto the card to supply the amperage through those.
What you think?
We’ve noticed a drop in TX/RX signal strengths with our PtP’s on every F/W above 4.2. I was thinking that maybe Mikrotik is just calculating the signal strength more accurate, and just reflecting a real signal that is lower, but that is not the case. There appears to be actual power loss when transmitting on the SR71-15 cards. I found this out when I upgraded a 25 mile PtP link where signal on 4.2 was -75db/-77db, and after the upgrade, dropped to -80db/-84db and the link kept dropping and could not keep alive. A site visit and downgrade to 4.2 brought the link back and good again. Will this ever get fixed with new firmwares?
We have improvement:
We suspect issue could be because we had selected frequency 4800 and HT extension channel below control or something.
We removed the miniPCI cards and did a system reset configuration.
Then on clean config we put the cards back in and connected them together, 18km link.
We now have to find suitable frequencies that the NV2 would have good CCQ on.
what about routing, has anyone tested it? there are many improvements in the routing department
Yes I have BGP receiving about 4000 routes on a RB1100 with 5.0rc10 as well as OSPF working. Also have OSPF running fine on a RB493AH.
So far (about 10 hours) it seems stable.
I do have MPLS issues on the RB1100, but no idea if these are related, I will email support…
hi
do you run nv2 on your x86 router and if so does it stay connected
on our x86 with hn cards on n the links keep dropping every few seconds
petro25 and pbr3000, thank you very much for the reports.
However I see the same behavior for VLAN interface on bridge at 4.16 and 5.0rc10.
VLAN interface is added to running bridge without any active interface;
- VLAN interface does not get MAC-address, until there is no MAC-address on bridge. Bridge gets MAC-address either by adding running interface to bridge or specifying admin-mac;
- VLAN interface is added to running bridge with active interface (running state);
- VLAN gets the same MAC-addrress, as bridge got from running interface.
We have found one problem with VLAN on WDS interfaces, we are working on the fix for it, but Ethernet VLANs work correctly.
I don’t know if there is anything I can do to solve the disconnect problem:

I have other RB’s with other Radio like R52 and it’s working ok, but only with R52hn, I get all disconnect reconnect.
the only time i can stop these disconnects is if i manually enter values for “noise floor threshold” but then i will have some
users not being able to connect at all, and some other will connect but can’t surf, and some other will connect and surf but
with a very slow rate..
Could all these be the cause because I am using one chain on the R52Hn? I don’t know why why why…
