Not sure if this is in the right area, so please excuse me if it isn’t.
v6.18 has fixed the SFP port flapping on CSR226-24G-2S+; however, now the CSR226-24G-2S+ can no longer auto negotiate with our CCR1036-12G-4S. This is correctable by telling the CCR1036 unit not to negotiate and just force the link to a set speed. I figured i would point this out because the CSR226 link and link light come up and say active, but on the CCR1036 the link and link light are inactive and no traffic is passing.
I’m rather puzzled. Are you saying that prior to ROS 6.18, you’re able to get the 1G SFP transceiver in SFP+1 cage to auto-negotiate with the CCR1036-12G-4S ?
As far as I know, 1G SFP transceivers (or 10G SFP+ manually set to 1G) on the CRS226 just don’t work on any ROS before 6.18.
Yes with both units on v6.17 they auto negotiated, but the CRS226 would connect and disconnect rapidly regardless of setting. Meaning i could talk to the CRS226 through the CCR1036 but only intermittently. The CRS226 would not negotiate with any of our D-Link switches however and they would never bring up a link. Now the CRS226 will auto negotiate with our D-Link switches and link up, but not with the CCR1036.
I’m getting used to the weirdness of these switches/routers. It’s a pain in the tail, but the feature set makes it worth the trouble.
