v6.42.6 [current]

RouterOS version 6.42.6 has been released in public “current” channel!

Before an upgrade:

  1. Remember to make backup/export files before an upgrade and save them on another storage device;
  2. Make sure the device will not lose power during upgrade process;
  3. Device has enough free storage space for all RouterOS packages to be downloaded.

What’s new in 6.42.6 (2018-Jul-06 11:56):

*) bridge - improved packets processing when bridge port changes states;
*) crs3xx - fixed bonding slave failover when packets are sent out of the bridge interface;
*) crs3xx - fixed LACP member failover;
*) crs3xx - improved link state detection when one side has disabled interface;
*) defconf - fixed bridge default configuration for SOHO devices with more than 9 Ethernet interfaces;
*) package - free up used storage space consumed by old RouterOS upgrades;
*) snmp - fixed w60g “phy-rate” readings;
*) supout - added “ip-cloud” section to supout file;
*) w60g - fixed random disconnects;
*) w60g - general stability and performance improvements;
*) winbox - added 64,8 GHz frequency to w60g interface frequency settings;
*) winbox - show “sector-writes” on devices that have such counters;

To upgrade, click “Check for updates” at /system package in your RouterOS configuration interface, or head to our download page: http://www.mikrotik.com/download

If you experience version related issues, then please send supout file from your router to support@mikrotik.com. File must be generated while router is not working as suspected or after some problem has appeared on device

Please keep this forum topic strictly related to this concrete RouterOS release.

If you router has a storage issue (not enough space due to RouterOS, not by other files stored on the device), use package from this link:
https://www.mikrotik.com/download/share/fix_space.npk

  • upload package to your router;
  • run /system reboot

Other affected installations will be fixed automatically, if there is enough space left for an upgrade by this fix:
“package - free up used storage space consumed by old RouterOS upgrades”

All good so far no issues, 16 upgrades not one issue.

Hi, what do you mean here concretly? Do you have more Informations about this, pls?
“…improved packets processing when bridge port changes states;”

Perfect update and upgrade from 6.42.3 to this in RB951G-2HnD

Updated CRS326-24G-2S+ from firmware v6.42.3 to 6.42.6

update went fine but after the update process ether24 en ether23 aren’t working anymore. They give link negotiate speed ect. but no mac address what so ever. Both port where trunk ports one has a WAP AC on it and the other a Cisco Switch.

Moving the devices and config to none used port everything works fine. I’m stunned at what this can be.

I removed config from ether23 and 24 disabled them rebooted switch. Redid config and still nothing no mac address nothing. Same config on ether 21 and 22 and link is fine mac addresses en traffic flow as expected. weird problem.

If anyone seen this before and has a tip how to fix this would be nice.

Have you upgraded not only RouterOS but also the firmware (/system routerboard upgrade, requires another reboot)?

Hi sindy, Thanks for the reply and input. Yeah routerboard firmware is also upgraded to V6.42.6. Always do that after a RouterOS update.

Fusionyx - Please send supout file from your router to support@mikrotik.com. What do you mean by “no MAC address”? Have you tried to downgrade device to see that it works again and upgrade once more to see that problem appears back again?
informant - The underlying issue could lead up to different types of problems, however, in most cases it was an unexpected reboot.

Hi strods,

I will create a spout file and will send it to support@mikrotik.com

I tried downgrade but during the boot it says not enough space to resume and reboot in the firmware v6.42.6

By no mac-address i mean i can’t see any mac address of the device connected to the link on those ports. So from the WAP AC and or the Cisco Switch.

Thanks for the support and help so far!

Where is the information on the write sectors?

Previously, it was shown in WinBox, now only in the console:

Will this morning i just connected the WAP AC and cisco switch back to the old ports Ether 23 and ether 24 no config change since yesterday and everything work again. Must have been something scewed up that is now cleared by time i assume. checked all logs ect nothing to find i’m happy that it works again but i hate it when i can’t tell how it’s fixed or what was wrong :slight_smile:

Will try to update more devices this weekend and see what i encounter.

Thanks for the patient read and help so far to those that did.

It’s strange. I have this information on my hAP ac^2.

AlexT - Have you accessed these device by direct IP connection or is it over, for example, RoMON? Can you try to clear cache on Winbox loader and connect again?

In my case sector write counters reappeared in Resources window after I reopened it in Winbox.

Device: hEX
Winbox: 3.16
ROS & FW: 6.42.5

Here is what I did:

  1. Opened Resources window before the update (counters are there)
  2. Upgraded ROS (6.42.5 → 6.42.6) and FW (6.42.5 → 6.42.6) then rebooted the device.
  3. Resources window did not display the counters. I closed and opened Resources window and counters reappeared.

Clearing the winbox cache has not helped, but deleting files from %AppData%\Roaming\Mikrotik\Winbox - helped.
Guys, thanks for the help!

Upgraded HAP.ACx3 from 6.42.5 → 6.42.6 without issues

Thanks!

Don’t know if this is 6.42.6 related but it struck my eye after the upgrade:

We have now CCQ rates better then 100%!!! That is good! But impossible imho.

Also, on a 2,4Ghz AP most CPE’s (mikrotik and 3rd party) connect with 1 chain only where there is ample difference in signal over the both chains… how come? This was never the case!
