Installed 6.49.11 and its boot firmware on RB 3011, 2011, hAP ac and multiple RB750’s - Everything works fine. Curious about what exactly improved about the poe-out port. Does it specifically address the problem related to low voltage passthrough that can blow the port out ?

Updated soft- and firmware to 6.49.11 on these models (> 50 devices in total) without any issues:

Sorry but I am a little confused - is this the new “long-term” version? Was there some change in channel naming? Or why else was the 6.49.10 long-term thread locked/dismissed?

In v6 line there’s only one active version: 6.49.11 . It’s both stable and long term.

There’s also v7 stable (currently 7.13) and there’s no v7 long-term right now.

Thanks for confirmation.

Yes, that is what I see now, but I have not seen any announcement that long-term has been actually dismissed or merged with stable or anything similar.
Up until now, long-term was always separate from stable branch and when V6 stable had a new release, latest long-term version thread was still kept open, but not this time, that is why I was confused.
So in other words, it is ok to switch from “V6 long-term” branch to “V6 stable” branch, there will not be any V6 long-term released anymore, if I get it right

Yes, I know this, I have no need for V7 right now, so I’ll be staying on V6 for the time being.

I would assume that v6 stable will get promoted to v6 long-term in a few weeks.

I’m still rather new to Mikrotik. Can someone please tell me how “stable” and “long term” relate to versions 6 and version 7? Is “stable” version 7 less reliable than “long term” version 6?

Thanks.

Edit: I’m using the hEX S.

6 and 7 are quite different things.
There is no long term with 7, it still changes too much.
