I notice in the terminal settings for DHCP-servers there’s a “conflict-detection” option and this was mentioned in the changelog but there’s no information on how it works or what it does?
Has anyone tested this or are MT staff able to give us a rundown?
Cheers
I also saw this and wondered. The best I could find is this http://www.tcpipguide.com/free/t_DHCPServerConflictDetection-2.htm which describes how conflict detection works. Of course, it doesn’t say what happens if the clients are running the standard windows firewall that completely blocks icmp messages. So, I guess disabling this will prevent the dhcp server from pinging the proposed IP address and checking for conflicts? It’s a complete guess, however.
