I have installed v6rc3 on a RB2011LS.
According to the latest newsletter this RB supports the new cable-test feature.
When I monitor as per the newsletter, no length/open/short information is displayed.
we made a mistake, it will be supported only in v6rc4 (next release)
Kewl.
On my RB2011-2HnD-IN v6.00rc4 cable test feature works only on ports 6-10.
Is it by design or this feature will be added on remaining ports in future realease?
Hi all!
How to show results of the test on the lcd?
( /system lcd )
Hi all.
How to show cable test result on lcd ?
(/system lcd)
currently you can’t customize what the LCD shows
In future versions ?
Thanks.
On v6rc5, RB2011-2HnD-IN.
Not seeing the cable test info on any of the ports.
Was this feature removed?
Works for me:
[admin@MikroTik] > /interface ethernet cable-test 0
name: ether1
status: no-link
cable-pairs: open:0,open:0,open:0,open:0
>
Ah. I had the command name wrong.
The newsletter (at least the PDF packed one) said:
[admin@CCR] > interface ethernet monitor ether5
status: no-link
auto-negotiation: done
cable-pairs: open:4,open:4,open:4,open:4
Thanks for the clear-up.
Works for me on my RB2011-2Hnd-IN on all ports, but NOT if a interface is a master-port for another physical port. It only appears to work if the port status is “no-link” and a master port seems to have link status of “link-ok” even if no device is physically plugged into the port.
if interface is configured in a switch, many features will only work on the master port. that’s why it’s a switch
What I was saying was that if the swich port is a master port, then the cable-test does not work on the master port. Is this intentional?
