Hi
just installed 7.2.3 on RB3011 and hap lite. Everything fine.
Trying to install CRS326 , but it is stuck in calculating download size. → forget this. The firewall decided that this host is bad and blocked it … now als on 7.2.3
I am on the same boat as you are. I am sticking for now on version 7.1.5 and work around the IPSec Identities issue with a script for my RB5009. Any other remote devices will remain on v6.x until I see a real stable version. 7.2 was a disaster for me and I got stability with 7.1.5
And even more important: in the case where things go wrong and errors go into stable releases that brick devices, the IMMEDIATE action should be to hold back such releases while the matter is investigated and rectified.
Does not matter if the developers initially think it is “a rare occurrence”, as this often turns out to be a bit different during subsequent investigation.
And as a bare minimum, as soon as reports like “device is bricked when wifiwave2 was installed” come in, the manufacturer should put warnings about that (“do not yet install this update when you use wifiwave2!”) prominently on top of the change notes.
AND NOT LEAVE IT TO A FORUM MEMBER TO DO THAT FOR THEM!
(which is visible only to forum members anyway, not to those users that regularly click on “check for updates” in the GUI and download a stable update when there is one)
In this particular case the behavior was even worse than in some earlier cases, because this problem was not new, it had already been observed in the beta version.
So the action should have been immediate.
Hello!
RB3011 with 7.2.2
L2TP and SSTP stop working and we have to restart the router, this happens to us since 7.2.2
We have placed a script to restart the router every 24 hours, since we do not know what is happening.
We also have an OVPN with a NAS and the message log is filling me up, so many that it is impossible to see other messages easily
Bricked my hap ac3 with 7.2.2 5 days ago. I stupidly ran the update on mobile app, which showed only 7.2.2 as possible update (i usually run it thru winbox, and only 7 days after the update has been out, don’t know why i ran it thru mobile app and only a few days after release…)
Anyway managed to get it working with netinstall of 7.2.1. I used windows. I had an issue where it didn’t want to run off my work laptop, it would detect the routerboard but when i clicked install it said starting and it would just hang like that for a few seconds and get back to ready to run, but nothing would happen. Tried disabling all my other network adapters on the laptop, tried using a dumb switch in between but nothing worked. Then i tried running it using my home pc and it ran successfully the first time, without any additional configuration or switches.
I got the device in “netinstall” mode by holding the reset button, then pluging it into wall, and holding the reset button for some 15 sec (after the wps button starts blinking green, then it turns solid blue and hold it for 5 sec after it turns solid blue). Then it’s detectable in netinstall. I ran the netinstall app after putting the device in this mode, not before, and it detected it no problem.
I didn’t run the update to 7.2.3 yet, wanted to get some more research if it’s safe to do so on my hap ac3 with wifivawe package installed? Anyone tested it?
