v7.8 Access List not working in Station mode.

First off thanks in advance for any assistance provided.

I purchased a hap lite v6.49 as a first time user of Mikrotik products. I needed to access a Meraki VPN with L2TP\IPsec, setup works well. After some time I was able to setup multiple access points using the Connect List feature no issue. Purchased a hap ax lite thinking that I would be able to setup the router with the same config.

The hap ax lite v7.8 has the Connect List feature removed and Access List must be used.

Current access list configs will not initialize a configuration profile. Current configuration profiles with different access points can be added to the wifi1 interface with a successful connection.

Access List:
added/removed - mac address
added signal range of -120..120
added correct SSID Regexp - XXXXXXX
Time - 00:00:00 - 1d 00:00:00
action - accept
added/removed - Passphrase
No change in connection state for the wifi1 interface.

Is it possible for the Access List feature to function like Connect List in station mode?

So I was curious and did some Test…

With the new “WIFI” / “wifi-qcom” Setup, i was NOT able to configure a Device in STATION-Mode
to connect to multiple Network, similar to the “old” Connect-List feature.

I wasn`t able to find any addition Information on this Topic..
Does someone know more about this ?

RouterOS v7 does not use MikroTik custom drivers as v6,
so,
no extra features that aren’t already built by the driver/chip vendor.

Thanks @rextended for the quick Feedback,

At least Mikrotik offers the wifi-qcom-ac Package on RouterOS V7…
So WIFI5 Devices can still use the Feature with the latest OS versions.

Nevertheless, I will miss this Feature…
It was a nice solution to provide a backup WAN Solutions for
SOHO-Network via a list of Mobile-Phones, aka. Hotspots

Or even as a MAIN WAN for some people that don`t want and/or
need a permanent Internet connection at HOME, but can easely
provide it, if one of the resident just activate their Hotspot.

This feature was the only reason I purchased the hAP ax lite. I guess I will return it. If anyone has a hAP ax lite on V6 let me know I am willing to purchase.

On v6 ax do not exist at all.
