Is it just me or did the highlight DHCP lease, right click “Make Static” option disappear?
Make static is available at the top of the DHCP lease box, but making a static lease by right clicking while highlighting is so much more convenient.

Highlight the IP address in DHCP Server and press the button Make Static
Will safe you a mouse click ![]()
Yes, im aware its there. Im just saying the Right Click Make Static option is far more convenient. For me at least. I use it all the time.
Its one less step.
v7 method
1 - Highlight DHCP lease
2 - Move mouse up top to Make Static button along top and click
3 - Move mouse back down to locate DHCP lease again
4 - Double Click DHCP lease
5 - Change IP
v6 Right Click method
1 Highlight DHCP lease
2 Right click - Make static
3 Double click DHCP lease
4 Change IP
I know it sounds minor at first glance but when creating static leases for 50+ devices, the time wasted adds up. Plus having to look 2 different places wears your concentration out faster.
I just think the old v6 right click method is a more efficient work flow.

1 Highlight DHCP lease
2 1 Right click - Make static
3 2 Double click DHCP lease
4 3 Change IP

4 1 - Double Click DHCP lease
2 - CLICK ON MAKE STATIC
3 - CLOSE WINDOW
4 - Double Click again DHCP lease, that is still on same position
5 - Change IP
When having these numbers of static devices, you might want to consider doing it through cli.
Thanks @erlinden, I did do not notice or forget that line....
50.. 1000... simple do multiple selection like on v6, what is the problem?
is still needed to open one-by-one for change IP like on v6.
Find some logic on what you do and use scripting.
Again, more work.
Winbox is what really sells Mikrotik to the average user wanting to break in to serious networking
Its just a suggestion to make Mikrotik more user friendly and work flow efficient
SERIOUSLY?
If I have to make 50 leases static and change the IPs of each lease, I do it all with one comamnd line on the CLI…
Well if you say so…Ill look into it.
Bu there ya go, more work. The work it takes to learn more CLI shit and prep scripts.
I only use CLI when absolutely necessary or when copying over large configs from one to another. I highly prefer Winbox as im not as CLI gifted as others
Its just a friendly request/suggestion, im not gonna throw all my Mikrotik gear out the Window.
I just think its something the Mikrotik Devs changed without much thought and/or overlooked and im just bringing up a simple request for the CLI phobic people like myself. Which I imagine makes up a sizeable portion of the Mikrotik user base.
Don’t worry, it was just to exchange ideas and opinions, like do on a forum…
